Morning Greeters

This year as part of our Student Leadership jobs, we gave the option of being a "Homma Greeter".  These individuals wear a Homma jersey each morning and every Friday afternoon.  From 8:30 am to 8:50 am our student leaders wear a Homma jersey and hold open the front doors to the school and you will hear "Good Morning" to students and their families who enter the building.  The simple act of having the door open and ready for students and families has been a wonderful way for us all to connect in the mornings.  We refer to this process at the end of each week as "Five Minute Fridays" where, again, student leaders wearing Homma jerseys spend five minutes as the building empties, wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.  Students acknowledge students, students acknowledge families, and they in turn do the same.  The pride felt by those leaders and the warm words of thanks we hear from our families goes a long way in Building Community and Sense of Place.
