Connecting Belonging to Place
Below is a sample of student work that shows how they are reflecting and connecting to place. In each section of the project students were asked to show their connection to a place with water, an artifact, a place special to them and the fourth was a connection to an indigenous animal that you connected with their identity. In the middle, students created their own personal land acknowledgement a long with statement of their commitment to reconciliation.
Maddie (student) stated that it helps me feel connected to others in the school. It is important for us to be thankful and to recognize the past and speaking the truth.
Claire (student) found the project helpful in making new friends and learning what other students have in common. Try our best to make it better.
