Homma School Wide Reading Assessment

In September, student reading behaviours were assessed using the DART (District Assessment of Reading Team). Student fluency, decoding skills and comprehension were assessed using the DART. Information from the assessment highlighted student proficiency in reading (decoding and fluency), while also helping to provide a clearer picture of next steps. The graphs in the image provides a school- wide summary by grade level. These graphs will be used to provide targeted support for at risk readers. The assessment data also provided teachers with an opportunity to plan for reading instruction to support all learners in their room.
