Hello Homma Families! 

We hope you all had an enjoyable and healthy summer!   We are very excited to welcome everyone back to another exciting year at Homma!  We look forward to seeing all of our returning families and a big welcome to all of the new families that we have joining the Homma community!

Attached to this email you will find information about returning to school next week.

For Kindergarten families, please follow the Gradual Entry schedule that was sent out in June (also attached to this e-mail). Kindergarten students will attend from 1:00 – 1:45 pm

For Kindergarten students, please line up at the following doors by group (map is attached)

English Kindergarten students Group A – use outside door 4

English Kindergarten students Group B – use outside door 5

French Immersion Kindergarten students, Group A – use outside door 7

French Immersion Kindergarten students, Group B – use outside door 9

Kindergarten parents, please come to the gym to enjoy coffee and muffin provided by Homma PAC. Mr. Cherry will also be doing a short presentation about the school.

For students in Grade 1 - 7 who are new to Homma, you should have received an e-mail yesterday welcoming you to the school and outlining first week plans. All new Grade 1 -7 students will meet in the school library on Tuesday, September 5^th.

This year teaching staff have received additional preparation time. To create enough blocks to provide for this additional preparation time, our daily schedule has changed. Please see below.

8:40 am        Warning Bell

8:45 am         School Begins

10:15 – 10:30 am         Recess

11:50 – 12:42 pm (11:50 -12:05 first bell, 12:15 second bell for students to go outside)      Lunch

2:45 pm       Dismissal

At the end of next week, we will be sending home our first Week at a Glance (WAAG) of the new school year. In the WAAG you will find information about upcoming events, reminders and other topics of interest. A WAAG will be sent home each Friday by e-mail. It will also be posted on our school website.

On Tuesday, our amazing Homma PAC will be hosting a welcome back reception in the gym at 9:00 am. Please come into the school to connect and enjoy a coffee and a muffin.
